What a CHS audit looks like: Islamic Relief Worldwide share their experience
"What a CHS audit looks like: Islamic Relief Worldwide shares its experience."
Islamic Relief Worldwide has successfully completed its CHS recertification audit with HQAI, and has shared the results in an article on its website.
A recertification audit is an in-depth, independent look at how an organisation lives up to the Core Humanitarian Standard. HQAI auditors assessed the international headquarters in Birmingham and five country offices: Indonesia, Jordan, Niger, Pakistan and Sudan. They interviewed staff at every location and spoke directly with people in the communities Islamic Relief supports. Hearing from communities is central to every HQAI audit: it is how we check that commitments on paper hold true on the ground.
As Islamic Relief points out, many governments and institutional donors now recognise CHS certification in their due diligence, because it is measurable and independently verified.
Congratulations to Islamic Relief Worldwide, CHS-certified since 2017, for its continued commitment to quality and accountability.
The view of a funder
For FCDO’s Due Diligence the HQAI audits provide greater assurance and economies of scale. They
include deeper insights into quality and beneficiary accountability, site visits and stakeholder interviews and
their detailed rating system enhances evidence quality and consistency.
