Tearfund Netherlands

Tearfund Netherlands is a Christian charity dedicated to alleviating poverty and injustice by partnering with local organisations and churches. Their vision is a world without poverty and injustice, where individuals recognise their worth and contribute to their communities. They focus on helping the most marginalised, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, gender, or political affiliation. Tearfund Netherlands operates through emergency relief efforts and community development initiatives, empowering local churches and communities to address poverty sustainably. Collaboration is central to their approach, working with various organisations and networks. Their core principles are rooted in Christian values and empowering people to improve their lives regardless of their background. To achieve holistic transformation and enable people and communities to flourish fully, they have four corporate outcomes:

  1. Emergency needs met - They respond quickly to meet immediate needs when crises and disasters hit vulnerable communities.
  2. Churches mobilised - They envision, empower and equip churches to play their part in the development and transformation of their communities.
  3. Communities transformed - They support communities to become resilient to shocks and stresses and work towards a better future for themselves and others.
  4. Society changed - They seek to influence and change social, political, and economic systems and policies so that the poorest communities can get the services and opportunities they need to thrive.
