Patricia Anne Devonport

With over 50 years of experience working in the public, charity and private sectors, she has relevant experience to bring to the Advisory and Complaint Board of HQAI. In her time as Senior Nurse Manager, she developed a strong interest in quality assurance and promoted the use of audits to measure performance and identify areas of improvement. Working for the Disasters Emergency Committee [DEC], she worked with members to devise a quality framework for the organisation.

With the sector’s push for clarity and simplification of standards, she supported the development of the CHS and its eventual adoption by DEC. Since 2016, she has conducted ten audits: nine against CHS and one internal audit for HQAI. This has given her a sound knowledge of the Core Humanitarian Standard and its implementation challenges. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated integrity, respected confidentiality, and clearly understood bias and impartiality.

I joined the HQAI community as a member of the advisory and complaint board in December 2023.
