Tin Tua

The Tin Tua Association is a non-governmental organisation incorporated under the laws of Burkina Faso. It has been in existence for over 30 years (founded in 1989) and has worked with local communities in the East, Sahel and Centre-East regions of Burkina Faso. Since its creation, Tin Tua has believed in the potential of local producers and has worked to give them the skills they need to take charge of their own affairs through education and training. Today, the Tin Tua Association is a community organisation made up of farmers' organisations grouped around the ‘Diéma’, whose capacities have been strengthened to enable them to take action themselves to contribute to the development of their localities.

Building on the Diéma community's roots, Tin Tua has been able to adapt to the context of an unprecedented security and humanitarian crisis, and is now one of the key players in the humanitarian response in Burkina Faso. Its vision is ‘a resilient community with better access to basic social services, contributing to virtuous governance in the East, Centre East, Centre North and Sahel regions’ by 2030. Its mission is to ‘Promote sustainable development through education, training and strengthening citizen participation in local governance and social cohesion’.
