Office de Développement des Églises Évangéliques
The Office de Développement des Églises Évangéliques (ODE) is a non-profit, faith-based development association set up on 12 August 1972 by the Fédération des Églises et Missions Évangéliques (FEME). It is an instrument of the evangelical community of Burkina Faso to bear witness to love of neighbour by contributing to the economic, social, cultural and spiritual development of the country. Its mission is to work towards restoring human dignity by promoting integral, responsible and sustainable development. It operates without any distinction as to religion, politics, origin or gender.
To achieve its objectives, ODE develops and implements a number of projects and programmes in the areas of: ‘Sustainable Agriculture and Environment’, ‘Rural Hydraulics’, ‘Savings/Credit and Income Generating Activities’, ‘Community Health & Fight against STIs & HIV/AIDS’, ‘Capacity Building of Target Groups’, "Peace, Justice and human rights, especially children's rights and protection‘, ’Humanitarian/emergency relief and rehabilitation‘, ’Accompanying local churches to support and finance projects in the communities in which they are located by transforming the church and the community".
The organisation works in close collaboration with beneficiary communities, and its main target groups are vulnerable rural populations, women and young people, family farmers and agri-business cooperatives, children, people living with disabilities, disaster victims, value chain players and cereal and oilseed growers.
