AMMIE
Founded in 1992 in Ouahigouya, in northern Burkina Faso, AMMIE (Appui Moral, Matériel et Intellectuel à l’Enfant) is a national humanitarian NGO whose main mission is ‘to contribute to the well-being of children in a fairer and more equitable world’. It is active in several areas: health, education, child protection, combating violence against women and children, and family and community support.
AMMIE implements concrete programmes such as emergency social and health assistance for displaced populations, community capacity building, raising awareness of children's rights, distributing school supplies and providing psychosocial support. It also advocates locally for the enforcement of protective laws and organises social cohesion and resilience initiatives, particularly in areas affected by food insecurity or humanitarian crises.
