Marian Casey-Maslen

Marian is Executive Director of the CDAC Network. She has over 25 years of experience in humanitarian response and development work. From 1993 to 2007, Marian lived in Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya working with NGOs and donor agencies on a wide range of sectoral issues. As a Senior Policy Officer with the ACT Alliance in Geneva she covered accountability, climate change, disaster risk reduction, gender equality, protection, security, and psychosocial support.

In 2012 she took up the position of Executive Director of HAP International and led the development of the Core Humanitarian Standard and contributed to the establishment of the CHS Alliance and the Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative. With a health professional background, she has a Masters degree in Development Studies (Dublin) and a Masters in International Law in Armed Conflict (Geneva).

I am a Director of the Board and a member of the GA since 2016.

People affected by disaster should be able to trust and rely on individuals and organisations that provide emergency assistance. HQAI is the only recognised entity that provides independent verification and certification to aid providers against theĀ Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) on Quality & Accountability.

Its ability to verify diverse assistance providers against the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) or other national or international development Standards; from small NGOs to large United Nations or government donor agencies.
